I feel like Star chose us.

We rode into her pasture with Brian and Diedre on a rainy April afternoon, and she was on a hill staring straight at us with her "come hither" attitude.

I looked into her eyes and knew that she needed to come to Stone Tavern Gypsies.

Deidre wasn’t so sure … she said that she belonged to Brian and that their father had bought her at Ballinasloe Fair before he died. She was special to Brian she said.
Brian eventually relented and Star became the first gypsy mare chosen for our new gypsy dream.

She is calm and big, and has that wonderful connection for which these horses are famous. She went for training to be ridden, and was then bred to Clononeen Darrig for July of 2007.
I can hardly wait to see the result. That foal will “probably” be for sale.
